Getting Here

If you’re driving, the GECC offers parking in our on-site multi-storey car park. There are 170 spaces including dedicated wheelchair friendly parking facilities. Entry is via Oaka Lane.  

The car park is serviced by three lifts and provides direct access to the building through double glass doors on Level One. You can also access the building through the front doors on Ground Level via Goondoon Street. 

Convention Centre Parking Cost: Free 

Can’t find a park in the centre’s carpark facility? Don’t worry, there is ample parking around the city centre. And even better, all street parking in the Gladstone CBD is free. It’s just part of our regional charm! 

CDC Queensland operates the public transport buses throughout the region, including services from the airport. City drop off points include Gladstone Valley and Auckland Street, both a short walk to the GECC.  For the latest timetable, click here. 

No need to arrange a designated driver for your night out or worry about losing your way in an unfamiliar city - taxi ranks are handy in the city centre and at the airport. Alternatively, call ahead on 131 008 to arrange a pickup. 

If you’re a visitor to our city, rent a car and make a plan to see more of what the greater Gladstone Region has to offer. All major car hire companies are located at the Gladstone Airport Terminal or nearby. 

Easy accessibility for every guest is our top priority. Wheelchair access is available via Goondoon Street, and the centre’s multi-story carpark is serviced by three elevators providing direct level entry to the building. The centre also has lift and ramp access to all areas of the building and obstruction-free access to facilities for the mobility impaired. If you’re visiting the GECC during the day, wander up to the Coffee Club at the Gladstone Grand Hotel on Goondoon Street for a quick coffee and a pre-show snack, or enjoy an after-show review with friends over coffee and cake.

Looking for some extra fun with your meal? Head down to the newly renovated Central Lane Hotel. Grab a bite to eat at the Public Bar or enjoy a meal in the Bistro. And when you’re done, challenge your friends to a game in Gladstone’s only ten pin bowling alley. 

Cotton Mill Café

Yearning for a good old-fashioned burger? This family owned and operated café in the heart of Gladstone is open for breakfast and brunch, serving great coffee, delicious café fare and an exciting range of specials.   

Dimitris Mediterranean Restaurant

This little hidden gem on Roseberry Street will delight you with its authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Open for dinner from Monday to Saturday from 5.30pm to late, sit back and enjoy a leisurely meal in a sophisticated setting.

You know the food is good when a restaurant has been around for 20 years! Indulge in aromatic Thai cuisine expertly prepared by the Thai owner and chef. Located in the City Plaza, Thai Classic Restaurant is open seven days a week. Make sure you book ahead to avoid the queue.

Getting from Agnes Water to visit Gladstone is easy.

Driving: Agnes Water to Gladstone is just over 120km via the Bruce Highway and the drive will take you just over 1.5 hours. Follow Round Hill Rd and Fingerboard Rd to Bruce Hwy/Roe St/A1 in Miriam Vale. Then continue on Bruce Hwy/A1. Take Gladstone Benaraby Rd to State Route 58 in Gladstone Central.

Alternatively, you can taxi from Agnes Water to Taunton, then take a bus; or taxi to Miriam Vale, then train to Gladstone.

From Miriam Vale to Gladstone, driving will take approximately 50 minutes to complete the 67km journey. Simply take Gladstone Benaraby Rd/State Route 58 to Bruce Hwy/A1 in Wurdong Heights, then follow the A1 to the city centre.

From Miriam Vale you can bus or train to Gladstone, with the journey taking around 40-50 minutes.

Brisbane to Gladstone is just over 500km (6 hours) by car, following the M1 and Bruce Hwy/A1. The drive is simple, essentially following one main path until you turn right at Benaraby onto Gladstone Benaraby Rd/State Route 58, 20km from the city centre. 

By Air

Gladstone is more than just a “mail run” stop for airlines.  As a busy regional centre for business and industry, a tourism hub and launching point to the magnificent Great Barrier Reef, Gladstone is serviced by both Qantas and Virgin airlines with multiple flights arriving daily.  

GECC is only a 7 minute drive from Gladstone Airport. On arrival at the airport, you can hire a car or catch a taxi or bus to the city centre. Airport transfer may also be available with your accommodation provider. 

By Train

Queensland Rail Travel operates tilt train services twice daily from Brisbane to Gladstone. The journey is just over 6 hours. 

By Bus

Bus services from Brisbane to Gladstone are available with Greyhound Australia. Average trip duration is 10 hours.
